Hunkering Down For Winter

Today is one of those days when it is a good thing being rugged up warm inside while the blustery autumn wind blows outside.

As I sit in my office looking out at the new snow on the Southern Alps, it's a great time to catch up on emails and work on new designs for the coming year (I know - it's time to start thinking about 2020 already!).

In the wholesale business, good things take time and working with overseas companies means a design can take eight months or more to come into fruition. Currently I am working on a couple of new designs for the paper weight range and this means many emails, samples and conversations flowing back and forth to get the perfect end product. Having received the two new samples earlier this week was like Christmas but unfortunately one of the designs needs more work so we are back to the drawing board again.

In the meantime, we are patiently waiting for the new shipment of aprons to arrive which are currently chugging past Australia on the way to lil' ol' New Zealand. This will top up the depleted supplies in the warehouse and fulfill the back orders which is always a good thing.

So while the wind blows outside and it's warm in here, today is great day to email suppliers, update the website and get ready for the upcoming Christchurch Gift Fair in three weeks time.
